Savoury, juicy with black fruit and smoke. Racy acidity on the palate for grilled meats and tomato sauce. Good value. Vines are planted in schist and slate soils at 400 metres above sea level. Ends with a darkly spicy finish.

Food pairings: roast chicken, pork loin, slow-braised lamb shanks.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Stunning. Featuring lots of black briar, herb, creme de cassis, dried purple flowers and sweet earth. 92 points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The nose is complex and elegant, this wine is full bodied and mouthwatering with rich flavors of cherry, currants, blackberry and black cherry. There is a hint of wood on the finish.
Mas Olivier Expression (2014) is made by the famed Bordelaise Lurton family from grapes grown in the South of France in Faugères. Best of both worlds here with the moderating Mediterranean sea and the protection of the Pyrenees. Look for smoky cherries, and vanilla. This is a great grilled game wine. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
