Peach blossom and orange florals on the nose of this highly aromatic BC white wine blend of Pinot Blanc and Oraniensteiner grapes. Oraniensteiner is a unique German variety developed to produce sparkling wine and it has a naturally high acidity which marries well to the late harvest Pinot Blanc's fruit ripeness and sweetness. The grapes were hand-picked at 23.8 brix. The juice macerated with the skins for two days.Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks for 47 days and two months on the lees to add richness and texture. There are 23 grams of residual sugar in this medium sweet white wine. Pair with shellfish and seafood.

Reviews and Ratings

Julian Park rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

270 cases produced. Grapes were grown at Family Zeller's Vineyard on Naramata Bench, handpicked 25.10.2016 at 24.5 Brix. Oraniensteiner is a unique German varietal that was developed to produce sparkling wines. A higher acidity grape blended with Pinot Blanc results in a harmonious wine full of big flavours. Fermentation took place and stainless steel tanks and was partly natural. This wine is fruity with a soft citrus bouquet, big texture and balanced sweetness of a 14 g/L residual sugar.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Brilliant, bright white gold, declared 13.5% ABV. Uber mouthwatering, fantastic acidity, juicy orchard fruit aromatics and on the palate including ripe nectarine, Asian pear and a hint of honey with persistence of nectarine on a medium-long finish. Pair this beauty with summer salads, sunshine or your favourite baked white fish. This acidity will accompany rotisserie lemon garlic chicken. A crowd pleaser, accessibly priced and sure to please. Tasted May 2017. 90 points. BespokeTastings
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a summer favourite! An incredibly aromatic wine with sweet orchard fruits, white peach, vanilla cream, crisp minerality and lemon drops on the nose. Refreshing with moderate acidity, the palate is luscious with sweet floral and minerality on the finish. Enjoy with sunshine and salads with freshly picked berries whilst listening to Felix Mendelssohn’s Overature to A Midsummer Night’s Dream – both you and the wine will appreciate this. Tasted May 2017. 89+ points. Matt Steeves – www.quercusvino.ca
