Black cherry liqueur and mocha coffee aromas on the nose. Robust with a deepest, darkest concentration of black pleasure. Dark fruit, smoke and velvet smoothness. Pair it with more wine.

Amarone Della Valpolicella food pairings: baked lasagna, linguine with fresh and sun-dried tomato sauce, spaghetti alla carbonara.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Dark garnet/brownish showing a beautiful rich nose with dried fruit, baking spice, plums and figs. A luxurious layered palate gives dried fruit, subtle spices, dried herbs and tea. Dry and satiny with an elegant lingering finish. Enjoy with hearty meats, game, turkey or simply savour on its own.
Tasted April 2016
Winemaker Eugenio Morini has produced the 2010 vintage of this robust Italian red wine, Amarone della Valpolicella Campo Leòn. This is a blend of 70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella and 10% Croatina and Oseleta grapes, and the wine is matured for 36 months in new oak barriques. Good cellar wine. - Community Wine Review.
