Supple, smooth, juicy and bursting with layers of black fruit flavour and complexity Such a benchmark wine. Lap it up while you can. Down it with a juicy steak.

Grenache Shiraz Mataro food pairings: braised meats and lamburgers, slow-cooked beef long ribs.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A Grenache 51%, Shiraz 38%, Mataro 10% blend from Clare Valley, S Australia. Rich, ripe dark berry aromas with vanilla and baking spice. The palate adds a touch of smoke and leather. Extra dry, full-bodied, with a long spicy finish. Winemaker suggests serving a little cooler than usual-16-18 C to optimize ripe fruit flavours.
Tasted July 2016
Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This delicious dark blend confirms my admiration for wines from Australia’s Clare Valley. Full bodied with aromas of ripe cherry and smoke while juicy berries and licorice linger on the palate. Great paired with roasted lamb. Tasted January 2018.
Named "Winery of the Year" Kilikanoon Killerman's Run 2013 is a smooth 50% Grenache, 40% Shiraz and 10% Mataro red wine blend and great price point as well. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
