Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Smooth, supple and juicy, crafted from Grenache and Syrah. Gives dark fruit, violets, subtle spicing and silky tannins on a mouthwatering palate. Enjoy with duck confit or goat cheese.
Tasted July 2018
Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A full throttle southern Rhône blend at unbelievable value. Grenache and Syrah are traditional in wines from the Vacqueyras (Latin for Valley of the Rocks) where aromas of red fruit, violets, licorice and spice usually dominate. This one is authentic and true to its sense of place offering black fruit and licorice with plenty of weight on the palate and slightly rustic tannins that can be easily tamed with an oven roasted rib eye with porcini butter and crispy pan fried kale.
Produced by Gabriel Meffre, La Châsse 2015 Grande Reserve is excellent value under $20. This is a robust Vacqueyras wine region red blend of mostly Grenache and Syrah wine grapes. Ripe raspberry, red cherry and warm spice aromas can be found on the nose with same on the palate along with dried sweet tobacco leaf and savoury herbs with good acidity for food. Tannins are grippy. Enjoy with duck confit. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
