Reviews and Ratings

Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This luscious deep ruby Malbec awakens the senses with juicy blackberries and spice on the nose followed by smooth flavours of plum, mocha and leather. Paired well with grilled rib eye steak topped with crumbled blue cheese.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Blackberry, plum spice, oak spice, leather and cigar tobacco. I was expecting it to be more serious. 89 Points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted June 27th 2017, colour medium purple, medium plus legs. Aromas, prune, blackcherry, blueberry, grape jam, clay pot and sweet tobacco. Taste, medium plus fruit and body, a little acid, and warm going down. A nice balanced fruit bomb with gripping tannins that finishes with dried black fruit.
The Malbec red wine grapes for François Lurton Piedra Negra Reserva (2015) were sourced from the foothills of the Andes grown at an altitude of 1100 metres in the Uco Valley, on pebbly, well drained, volcanic moraine soils. The climate is continental, semi desert with lots of sunshine with temperatures swings of over 30 degrees between day and night giving a complex, and rich wine with fresh fruit and herb flavours. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
