The grapes for this robust wine are grown in one of Napa Valley's coolest vineyards, and then the wine is aged for 20 months in small oak barrels. A full-bodied Californian Cabernet with lots of aging potential. Give this one some more cellar time, then decant 1-2 hours when you open it. Aromas of black fruit, violets, cigar box and smoke. Pair with a rare steak.

A gorgeous Napa Cab, with fleshy dark plum, blackberry, floral, anise, savoury. Well balanced, medium tannins, medium acidity. Paired well with gourmet beef burgers BBQd to perfection. Tasted 2014 vintage in Oct 2017. 91 points.

Big and bold Cali Cab with a bevy of complexity. Deep ruby colour, with quite an evolving provinces bouquet of cassis, plum, prune, earthy forest floor, toast, bay leaves, and a touch of tobacco cigar box and menthol. Medium plus flavour intensity with plum, cherry, cassis, dark chocolate, grilled green pepper, dried herbs and bay leaves. Medium acidity, full body, high tannin and a long finish. Scrumptious. Will complement red meats, lamb and strong cheeses.

|California Franciscan (2014) is a medium-plus bodied Californian Cabernet Sauvignon. On the nose this rich red is ripe black fruits, earthy flowers, cedar and smoke (from oak treatment). Tannins are surprisingly rounded and the wine is smooth with good acidity. - Community Wine Reviews|
