This Ontario bubbly is made from 100% Chardonnay wine grapes and is fresh, crisp with bright apple, ripe stone fruit, toasty, creamy flavours on the palate. So named "Riddled" as a tribute to the process of making sparkling wine, especially the traditional ways in Champagne, where bottles were turned periodically, or riddled, as they rested upside down on their lees (sediment) before disgorging that sediment and putting the final big cork in the bottle.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Beautiful! Made from 100% Chardonnay, this gorgeous sparkler has aromas of green apple, lemon zest, yeast, and a hint of honey blossom. Dry, with vibrant acidity, a fine, fizzy mousse, and a lovely mix of tart and bright fruit and some yeasty bread notes. Crisp, balanced, and flavourful. Enjoy with pan fried fish or something outside of the box like eggs benedict.
Jisun Hahn CAPS Certified Somm rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A local traditional method sparkling wine that is quite rich both on the nose and the palate. Ripe apple and honeyed peach on the nose, while creamy on the palate. Hint of residual sugar nicely balanced with elevated acidity. The palate features tart fresh green apples with a lingering finish. Would be lovely as an aperitif or with holiday appetizers featuring grilled shrimp skewers or cold Vietnamese salad rolls.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This sparkling opens with aromas of rich, ripe orchard apples. Lively with creamy, gingery toast on the palate. Nice balance. Would be a pleasure to sip on its own or serve with brunch or lunch. Tasted 22 November, 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
