Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Ferrari Perlé 2007 was recently awarded finest sparkling wine in the world, outside of Champagne, "World Champion Sparkling Wine Outside Champagne" in the "Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships" organized by Tom Stevenson, the world's foremost authority on sparkling wine.

This is an exceptional Metodo Classico Blanc de Blancs sparkling wine, produced from 100% estate grown Chardonnay, from the finest high altitude hillside vineyards in Trentino. The 2007 was aged for over 5 years on its lees, then cellar-aged the balance of its life. Now 8 years old, it's reached incredible complexity and harmony in every imaginable way. The colour is straw yellow with a rich golden hue, indicative of its age and the complexity that you're soon to experience with that first sip. Rich and nutty, with citrus and tree fruit accents, it's very fresh in the glass, and above all displays the elegance and harmony one expects from a fine Italian luxury product. When there's a major milestone to celebrate I can't think of a more appropriate sparkling wine than this premium vintage Ferrari. Enjoy with pasta carbonara, rich German cuisine, or elegant Japanese cuisine. Tasted October 2015. 94 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca

Ferrari was also recently nominated for 'Best European Winery' by Wine Enthusiast at the Wine Star Awards, the prestigious prize that the American magazine will hand out at the end of 2015. The winners will be announced in the Wine Enthusiast’s special “Best of Year” issue, and they will be honoured at a gala black-tie dinner in New York City on Jan. 25, 2016.
Tania Thomas - CSW, WSET ADV rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Vinified with 100% chardonnay grapes hand-harvested from Lunelli family’s own high altitude alpine vineyards. Fantastic, dry and crisp sparkler displays perfect harmony of freshness and elegance. In addition to typical fruity notes of apples and white peaches, it brings warming aromas and flavours of brioche and almond pastry due to its prolonged lees contact. Fine and persistent bubbles, perfect companion to pasta al carbonara.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

An incredible vintage Blanc de Blanc sparkling wine hailing from the picturesque Trentodoc mountain wine region that can stand up to a very many world class Champagnes. The Trentodoc vineyards are located 500+ meters above sea level, making all the other sparkling wines in the Ferrari portfolio so unique that its cool climate mountain terroir origin itself warrants distinction.

This sparkling wine pours with a bright lustrous gold appearance. Pronounced biscuit, dried apricot, orange (zest) and floral aromas billow from every popped bubble in the glass. On the palate, the citrus and mineral notes take center stage. This wine is extra dry with an incredibly fresh sensations on the palate. Pair with oysters!
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

This Ferrari is ready to be unleashed. Ferrari Brut is an exceptional value metodo classico wine and quality product with strong roots and solid foundation. This Blanc de Blanc is 12.5% ABV, pale gold colour and shows an intense bouquet, exceptionally well integrated and balanced. Aged over 7 years, recently disgorged in 2014, there is exceptional harmony between the 100% hand-harvested chardonnay and Ferraris traditional method expression of vinification. World renowned with awards this #mountainwine was produced from grapes 300-700 meters (1,000-2,300 ft) above sea level where diurnal temperatures and air flow are ideal for fruit growth, acidity and sugar concentration development. Aromatics of peach, stone fruit, pear patisserie, almond fingers, ripe Honey Crisp apple and a hint of baked bread. Dry, crisp, refreshing with delicate and fine bubbles, you may wish to order a case. This Vintage wine fits well between the Prosecco and Champagne price points and delivers exceptional quality. Enjoyable with almost any food and especially on its own. Rated 93/100
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

The Ferrari Perle 2007 was recently crowned the “World Champion Sparkling Wine Outside of Champagne”. The Chardonnay grapes of this blanc de blancs were hand selected and hand harvested from the mountainside vineyards owned by the Lunelli family. Yellow with a golden reflection, the tiny, elegant bubbles flirtatiously rise to the top of the glass. Impressive aroma profile of ripe peach and apple, almond and baguette. Incredibly pleasant and balanced. This is the ultimate celebration wine for the Holiday Season or for any special occasion. Tasted October 19, 2015 - Ferrari Portfolio Tasting.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Recipient of numerous accolades including 'Best Sparkling in the World' from Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships 2014 out of a field of 650 entries.
Light gold with yeasty, toasty, ripe apple, pear and mineral nose. Harmonious on the palate with good complexity, elegance and freshness leading to a long citrus lemon finish. Aged 5 years on the lees. A fantastic traditional method sparkling wine that rivals some at over double the price.
Tasted Oct 2015 at Ferrari portfolio tasting
Mymi Thesingingsommelier - Sommelier, FWS rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

In 1952, Giulio Ferrari, a man with no heir sold his small Trento winery to Bruno Lunelli to continue in his footsteps and continue crafting his superior quality sparkling wines which at the time were only produced in very small quantities.
But that was all about to change.
Over time, with much hard work and a vision, Bruno Lunelli and his sons were able to transform Ferrari from a relatively small operation vineyard to the celebratory toast of Italy and the leader in the Metodo Classico sparkling wine market.
Today, the Lunelli Group is led by the family’s third generation and still abides by faithful principles.
This 2007 Perlé is made from 100% Chardonnay from the Lunelli’s own vineyards and was aged for at least 5 years on its lees.
Pale yellow in the glass with a ton of frenzied minuscule bubbles.
Very fragrant on the nose with aromas of ripe white peaches, citrus zest, wild flower honey and a hint of freshly grated nutmeg.
Nervy, harmonious and dry on the palate. Soft bubbly mousse with a hint of toasted marshmallows and ripe juicy golden delicious apples.
Try pairing this elegant sparkler with a seafood platter (fried and/or not!), absolutely delectable!
