From Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley wine region, Domaine Drouhin 2018 Pinot Noir is a fresh, spicy and elegant PN with Old World pedigree made in New World wine style. Dry, medium-bodied with silky tannins, look for bright red berry, cherry and blueberry fruit flavours, sweet dried tobacco leaf, cinnamon, anise and nutmeg spice all wrapped in juicy acidity and finishing on a flinty mineral note. Beautifully done. Lightly chill and enjoy with veal chops smothered in a wild mushroom sauce.

Pinot Noir food pairings: veal chops, grilled duck sausages, pork tenderloin, barbecued lamb sirloin, grilled carrot mash and spring greens purée.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Elegant Pinot Noir from Oregon, the Domaine Drouhin 2018 exposes a supple bouquet of raspberry, plum sauce, blood orange, rosehip, mushroom, spice and brown sugar. Sophisticated body, silky tannins, with well layered acidity throughout the finish, this superb Pinot Noir will please with its complex palate of cherry, cranberry, potpourri, tobacco leaf, cocoa, cinnamon and spice. Enjoy!
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

I enjoyed every minute of tasting this Domaine Drouhin because its aroma + flavour + feel is spectacular. This pinot noir checks a lot of boxes for me.

Its delicate flavours are vibrant expressions of red cherries and currants teamed up with sweet cedar and mocha, a beautiful match for this pinot’s headlining flavours. Layers of red cherries (more fresh than ripe) and savoury spice undertones.

This creation from Oregon’s Dundee Hills viticultural area feels medium bodied, super dry, velvety, with small scale tannins and a minutes long finish. Superb.

What’s more, Domaine Drouhin is LIVE certified. LIVE certification relates to sustainable viticultural practices in the United States’ Pacific Northwest.

David Skinner rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The intensity of the nose jumps out of the glass. Earthy and full of black cherry, plum and spice with subtle smoke. Gentle, but significant tannins, with medium body and well balanced. More dark fruits on the palate with some peppery grace. A solid finish.
