Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Culmina Winery, Saignée 2019, Okanagan, BC, Canada. $25 (winery direct)

This impressive Rosé from Culmina's Golden Mile Bench vineyards is produced using the Saignée method where free run juice is bled-off the freshly pressed grapes after a short maceration to incorporate limited colour and capture maximum sweet and refreshing berry and herbal characteristics in the final wine. A blend of Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon otherwise destined for Culmina's Hypothesis Bordeaux blend, but fortunately diverted to produce this impressive Rosé which weighs in at 14% providing the most creamy and refreshing texture you'll find in a Rosé this summer. Texture and weight put this wine in a category of its own, giving a creaminess on the palate that makes it wonderful to sip and equally great when paired with BBQ fare and Autumn dishes. Tasted June 2020. 92+ points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Beautiful and perfect for a wide range of summer activities and feasts! Aromas of cherry, strawberry, lime and a hint of orange blossom. Medium bodied, with a hint of a creamy texture, and bright acidity on the palate. Fruit and berry flavours are vibrant and fresh, with a hint of crisp citrus on the finish. Enjoy with summery salads, fresh seafood dishes, or smoked salmon at brunch. Enjoy!

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
