Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This lovely wine from the Ribera del Duero region of Spain has coveted 90 points from Wine Spectator and Top 100 Wineries form Wine and Spirits Magazine. Well deserved. This 2005 mostly Tempranillo red wine is an inky deep ruby with slow legs on the glass. Loads of succulent black berries, red berries, plum, cherry, baking spices, clove, bakers chocolate, leather. There's a good amount of polishing tannins and medium+ acidity. It's full on full-bodied. Long fruit driven finish. This tiger hasn't been tamed and will reward in 10 years or more. Drink today but suggest decanting 2 hours. Red meat please!

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Wow! Such a youthful 2005 it makes me wonder when this will start to show its age? Deep ruby red in colour, the nose is full of dark fruits, blackberry, black currant, sweet spice, cedar, and vanilla. Full bodied, full-flavoured, this is a terrific wine with great structure. A two hour decant is recommended and this beauty should age gracefully for 10-15 years. Highly recommended, espcially at the bargin price of $16.95. Tasted June 2015 - 91 points. Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

From the famous Ribera del Duero in Northern Spain comes this blend of 90% Tempranillo with 10% Cab Sauv. This full-bodied red scored 90 pts by Wine Spectator in 2009. The nose shows ripe cherry, oak and an inky touch. The palate shows ripe red berry fruit, mint, and oak. Very dry with a satiny, harmonious mouthfeel and a long complex finish.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This Spanish gem shows its terroir at first contact. This is a beautiful central north Spain
Produced by Bodegas Balbás, this Spanish red wine Crianza is a blend of 90% Tempranillo with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. - Community Wine Reviews
