Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 96/100 with the following review:

A spectacular Cab blend from the Ste. Michelle-Antinori collaboration, offering intensity, power, balance and finesse. Displays dried fruit, cherry and blackcurrant along with subtle spice notes of anise and cocoa in an exceptionally smooth texture with exquisite balance of all elements. Will cellar 10-15 years. Fantastic gift wine, but maybe you should hide a bottle away for yourself?

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

Since discovering this remarkable winery, ever vintage since 2008 has had me enamoured. This (mostly Cabernet Sauvignon) red blend from the esteemed Red Mountian appellation in Washington State shows pronounced floral (violets) and spice aromas. The palate shows a sublimely integrated rush of mouthwatering acidity and ripe tannins. Flavours are deeply concentrated showing complex notes of black plum, cherry, cocoa, tobacco leaf, and minty anise. A superb and luxurious wine to enjoy now, after being decanted for an hour, or kept in the cellar through 2020-2023. Tasted Nov 2016 - @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Simon Chen rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Tasted @ the Ch. Ste. Michelle Tasting Room - We visited Woodinville in Washington for my brother's birthday weekend. Our first stop was Ch. Ste. Michelle at 10am in the morning =D. Due to our appointment with Betz Winery at 11am, we decided ony to try their top wine, Col Solare, a collaboration between Ch. Ste. Michelle and Antinori. We had to privilege to try 01, 12, 13, and 14th vintage. All the grapes are sourced from Red Mountain AVA and they are grown in an old traditional method that is still being used in Antinori's vineyards in Tuscany. The 12' vintage is lush and silky. Full of red and black fruits. Good midpalate structure but falls short at the finish.

The palate portfolio really reminds me of Guado al Tasso with more new world expression
