A blockbuster Washington Merlot from a strong vintage. Aromas of black cherry, spice and smoke. A splash of Syrah in this mostly Merlot wine adds a depth of black raspberry flavour and supple texture. Washington didn't suffer from the phylloxera root louse devastation so the vines are still planted on 100% vinifera rootstock and convey that typicity beautifully. Pair with grilled pork chops.

Merlot food pairings: grilled pork chops, pork tenderloin, sausage-stuffed Portobello mushrooms.

Reviews and Ratings

Chateau Ste. Michelle 2015 Merlot is produced in the Columbia Valley, Washington. This is a strong vintage at a great price. Plum and raspberry fruit flavours on the palate are full and juicy wrapped up in a touch of spice and smoke. Very supple and silky. Enjoy with a roast of pork. - Community Wine Reviews
