A full-bodied, supple Bordeaux red wine blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc grapes grown on a family vineyard of 8 hectares. Aromas of black fruit and toasty oak. Balanced with fairly polished tannins. Long finish. Decant 1 hour and pair with a rare steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Awesome juice. 2010 gives you some aged notes but it is seems as though it has just hit its stride. Lovely plum, linzer, spice, smoke, and roasted chestnut. 90 Points.
L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Delicious deep, dark ruby! Pronounced nose of fresh cherries and raspberry with vanilla and a hint of blueberry. Balanced dry wine; full bodied. This is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Tastes are of cherry, raspberry and vanilla; blueberry did not repeat on palate. Paired wonderfully well with mature cheddar, roast beef and olive ciabatta! I would drink it on its own too ; a very enjoyable wine.
Update Aug 2021
Still wonderful!still great with mature cheddar, and wonderful with grilled flap steak that was marinated with white wine vinegar and Herbes de provence (among other things). The beef just paired so well with the wonderful flavour of the wine!
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Right bank Bordeaux built solely around Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
Decently dark, ruby and purple.
The aromas are subdued, but opens up. Some walnut shell, plum, cassis, bell pepper, kitchen spice, and smoke.
The flavours are rich. Tannins are pronounced, but not astringent (it is 8 years old, which is a lot for a wine this humble). Say goodbye to a disappearing vintage with this wine paired with wild boar or grouse, in a red wine sauce.
Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Medium garnet in colour with eucalyptus and pepper on the nose. Flavours of sour cherry and cedar. Pair this one with food. Steak would be perfect.

From the Castillon Côtes De Bordeaux wine region, Château Moulin De Clotte 2010 is a 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc red wine blend produced by Françoise et Philippe Lannoye. On the nose, the wine is floral with ripe plums and red berries. Weighty on the palate, this red is dry, with wild berry, cherry and blueberry flavours. Pair with roast beef and mature cheeses. With her husband's help, Françoise Lannoye purchased Moulin de Clotte and restructured the vineyards as well as studying the soils to match it with the best clones and rootstock. The vineyards cover 20 acres in the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation and benefit from an ideal location east of Saint-Émilion. - Community Wine Reviews
