Natalie's Score: 89/100

This is an AC-designated wine, located in the east of the Bordeaux region. An incredibly well-priced wine for Bordeaux! Full-bodied with aromas of marauding dark shadows, tar, black fruit, smoke and oak. This is a French red wine blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Not for the faint of heart. Pair with a rare steak.

Meritage food pairings: coq au vins, beef bourguignon, cassoulet.

Dark garnet with aromas of dark fruit, smoke and tar, echoed on palate. Extra-dry with grippy tannins. Pair with hearty beef bourguignon or duck cassoulet.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
