A terrific, medium-bodied, smooth French red wine from the heart of Burgundy's Beaujolais region. Aromas of fleshy ripe dark cherry and some spice. Made from the classic Gamay grape. Pair with grilled chicken.

Food pairings: grilled pork tenderloin, filet mignon, roast chicken.

This was a rich burgundy colour in the glass. The nose was fruity with a bit of heat that eventually blew off. This was so lively on the palate! I could actually see tiny bubbles on the rim of the wine. Palate is medium weight, fruity (red fruits) and smooth. Finish was medium length. The vibrancy of this wine stood up against a filet mignon with demi-glace. So if you a fan of lighter, non-tannic wine this would be an excellent choice for you. Tasted February 2018.

I am surprised that this wine has 13 percent alcohol as it does not feel or taste like it. This light bodied Red made from Gamay is juicy on the palate, fresh, and the tannins are silky smooth.

On the nose, we have aromas of violet, dark cherry, and plum with hints of black pepper, sweet spice, and milk chocolate. The juicy fruit aromas follow through on the palate as well as a touch of cloves and cinnamon.

Wine-Food Pairing: Good on its own. I paired mine with tuna steak grilled on a charcoal barbecue. It was delicious! This would also pair well with roasted pork.

Château Grange Cochard Vieilles Vignes (2014) is violet in the glass with a pronounced nose of ripe dark berries, violets and baking spices. On the palate, this classic Morgon is dry with layers of dark ripe berries cherries and more baking spice. Tannins are powerful. Chateau Grange Cochard Vielles Vignes is made from 100 year old Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc grape wines (a traditional grape of the region). This vintage was awarded Gold in the Concours des Grands Vins de France, Macon. - Community Wine Reviews
