Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Good value found here. Needs a little opening at first, decanting beneficial. Invigorating aromas that reveal raspberries, stewed cooked strawberries, bramble, cassis, pie filling, pink cherry blossoms, green bell peppers and graphite. Flavours awaken, revealing: red cherries, plums, and spicy red pepper heat. High acidity, with a medium plus body and finish. Overall, fairly well balanced. Can drink now but could benefit from some cellaring time. Pair with roasted lamb sausages. 89 points - tasted April 2018
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

From the magical region of Saint-Emilion, Chateau Godeau Ducarpe 2014 offers the elegance expected of a Grand Cru. The year 2014 brought challenging weather. An early summer helped the vines flower, but mid August brought cold and rainy weather. However, the warm and dry Indian summer that followed helped the grapes reach the desired quality of a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru. The bouquet reveals blackcurrant, dark cherry, rose, spiced tea, salty caramel and cedar. Made from 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, this wine presents a full body with a lingering velvety cherry finish in a well-balanced style. Cherry, blackcurrant, bay leaf, caramel, iodine, a hint of cinnamon and cedar conclude the beautiful story told by this well-made wine. Enjoy!
Château Godeau Ducarpe 2014 is a Grand Cru Saint-Émilion from the Bordeaux wine region and produced by Famille Florisoone. The estate cover 15 acres and is planted with 95% Merlot with 5% Cabernet Franc. Drink now and for the next five years. - Community Wine Reviews
