Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Bright garnet with rich cherry and sweet spice aromas. On the palate, tart cherry, earth, vanilla, sweet spice, forest floor and toasted oak with firm tannins and lingering finish.
Tasted Feb. 2017
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Ruby in the glass with inviting aromas of earthiness, cherry and spice. The palate is rich with integrated layers of classic flavors of sour cherry, vanilla, oak, and that earthiness that makes you feel like you are in the vineyard. Solid tannic structure and lingering cherry finish. Decanting this Pinot Noir is ideal.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Pale medium ruby colour with and earthy/ herbal quality to the aromas. Cherry, vanilla Coke, pepper and toast to finish off the aromas. Aromas are repeated on the palate with a lengthy tannic finish. This medium-bodied Pinot Noir needs some time to breath and might even be a good candidate for the cellar.
Tasted: February 2017
Château des Charmes craft their Old Vines Pinot Noir in a definitively Burgundian style, coaxing out the best of this beloved grape. This one from the 2012 vintage earned a perfect rating from" Wines in Niagara" author, Rick Van Sickle, who strongly recommends the 2012 vintage of this well-crafted Pinot Noir. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
