Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 84/100 with the following review:

Clear light yellow with lots of bubbles, the bouquet of this wine is subtle. There are hints of brioche, notes of cooked pear and of honey. On the palate, it is dry, crisp, and citrusy. The palate follows the nose with pear flavours and it has a slight bitter finish.

In terms of pairing, this bubbly would be quite versatile and would be lovely with salty appetizers. I enjoyed mine on the patio with a variety of cheese and crackers.
From Portugal's Douro wine region, Caves Transmontanas Vértice, Cuvée Bruto Espumante is made in the Traditional Method. This is the first time this wine has been made as a non-vintage wine. Disgorgement date shows November 2015 on the label and the wine blend is 27% Touriga Franca, 37% Gouveio, 15% Malvasia Fina, 9% Viosinho with the balance in other traditional grapes. The non-vintage blend is a blend of three vintages in fact, mostly from 2011 with one-fifth of the blend from 2009 and 2010 vintages. This is a great value sparkler. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
