Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

There is something so alluring about Chilean Syrah. The expression of Syrah in this country is one of my favourites in the world. This wine features oodles of smoke, blueberry and blackberry, mint, meat blood, crushed rocks and warm spice. There is also crushed and dried purple flowers, Kenya AA coffee and mocha notes. Pair with red meat or smoked poultry. 91 points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

An outstanding value Chilean Syrah from a traditional winery in the Aconcagua Valley north of Santiago, Chile. A nose and palate of fresh ripe fruit - strawberry, blueberry, cherry, dried herbs, spice, smoke, and fresh mint. Delightful smokey finish. Tasted November 2017.
From the Aconcagua Valley in Chile, Carabantes (2012) is a medium-bodied Syrah. The Syrah here is called Carabantes, named after the Dominican Monk that brought the first vitis vinifera to Chile. Grapes were hand-picked for this wine and the wine is unfiltered. The 2012 Syrah Carabantes was fermented in stainless steel and the wine matured in French and American oak barrels for 15 months. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
