Smoky, toasty oak and mocha espresso on the nose of this generously oaked Spanish red wine. Blackened fruit and dark chocolate on the palate. This vineyard is the northernmost in the Yecla region of Spain, with vines planted at 700 to 800 metres above sea level.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A blend of Mourvedre, Syrah and Grenache, this wine is full bodied and well balanced. Cherry, blackberries, blueberries and vanilla dominate the aromas and there is a subtle, inviting spiciness on the palate coupled with dark fruit flavors. It is a steal of a deal at this price point and would be divine with warm baguette and hard cheeses.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Loads of ripe black cherry, smoke, fresh herbs, crushed flowers, fresh tobacco, and sweet earth. Drink now through 2020. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
From the Yecla wine region, Campo Arriba (2014) is a full-bodied and lush red wine blend of 70% Mourvèdre, 20% Syrah and 10% Grenache aged three months in small French oak. The winery was started by the Candela family in 1925. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
