Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

A simply superb Pinot Gris from Blue Grouse Estate Winery! Pure essence of fresh pear, apple and minerally aromas, this Vancouver Island PG is dry, fresh and silky with ripe Bartlett pear, greengage plum, mineral and soft lemon zest flavours lithe, refreshing with beautifully balanced acidity and a caressingly long ripe pear finish. So, so good! Tasted July 2026 with pan-fried Hokkaido scallops.

Winemaker's Notes: crafted from 100% Pinot Gris sourced from Blue Grouse Estate and partner vineyards, Enrico, Saison, and Deol. Each lot of grapes were vinified separately to preserve site expressions and nuances for the final blend. "Fermentation and aging took place in a mix of vessels, with 67% in concrete cube, 20% in French oak barrel, and 13% in stainless steel. Partial malolactic fermentation added softness and textural roundness through the mid-palate."

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
