This blockbuster, towering BC red wine is a blend of 40% Merlot, 38% Petit Verdot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec grapes. Aromas of fleshy black fruit, tar, toasty oak, smoke and graphite. Holy smokes! Pair with this charred and grilled meats.

Reviews and Ratings

Lynn Van Der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Heady aromas of blackberries, licorice, black pepper and vanilla, mouth coating tannins and balanced acidity, with a very persistent black cherry finish.
Great steak wine!
Tasted July 2018.
Lori Kilmartin - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Interesting story behind the name "Blasted Church". A church that was being moved to the winery in 1929 had dynamite ignited inside to "loosen the nails" and make the move go smoother. Obviously it worked as the church has been at its second home ever since.

This is a Bordeaux inspired blend; big in every way. Full bodied, dark purple in colour, intense nose of ripe blackberries, sour cherry, smoke and vanilla. Flavours of ripe cherry and chocolate. Long oaky finish. Definitely a wine to serve with red meat. Tasted July 4, 2018.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
