Natalie's Score: 93/100 Benjamin Bridge has established itself among premium producers of Canadian sparkling wine. This east coast bubbly was aged for three years on its lees, adding richness and creaminess to the wine, and was disgorged in August 2014 using the Méthode Classique. This wine will cellar well, but I challenge you to wait. Pair with fresh seafood, from Nova Scotia, of course.
Food pairings: stuffed roast turkey, battered seafood.

Reviews and Ratings
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review: Grab a bottle of this and find out why it’s fast becoming one of Canada’s fav sparklers! Nova Scotia boasts the same latitude as the champagne district in France and wow, Benjamin Bridge is quickly putting Nova Scotia winemaking on the map. Made from hand-picked L’Acadie, Chardonnay and Seyval grapes using the same traditional method as classic champagne. The nose shows lovely citrus, honey and pear, then the concentrated palate continues with lime, pink grapefruit zest, green apple, pear and croissant flavours. Persistent effervescence and crisp, creamy mouthfeel lead to a long rich, creamy finish. Pairs beautifully with fresh seafood, vegetarian dishes, or with chocolates!
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review: Benjamin Bridge has captured the attention and admiration of wine aficionados with their delicious high quality sparkling wines. Proudly Canadian, this Gaspreau Valley (Nova Scotia) based sparkling wine house is making a real fizz with their premium classic method sparkling wines. The 2009 Brut is a blend of L'Acadie, Chardonnay and Seyval, all from their estate vineyards. The nose offers crisp golden apple, honey suckle, baked bread and lees. Fine micro bubbles coat the palate and lead to a long mineral driven green apple finish. A fine wine that would enhance any celebration and would complement a gourmet holiday meal alongside your closest friends and family. Tasted December 2014. 92 points - Matt Steeves - @QuercusVino
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: A light, pretty sparking wine with bright minerality, lemon, and white flowers. The taste is bright and primarily lemon with just a touch of biscuit. A perfect "Welcome to the party!" sparkling wine for any event, but especially something in the spring or summer.
The 2009 vintage of the winery's Brut is spectacular, and employs the traditional method used in Champagne (second fermentation in the bottle) but with local Nova Scotia grapes: L'Acadie, Chardonnay and Seyval. It's crisp and fresh with a lovely core of minerality and a long, persistent finish. - Community Wine Reviews
