Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This wine is fantastic for the price, a true expression of Alentejano terroir. Featuring blackberry fruit, scorched herbs, intense leather and dried tobacco with hung meat and game notes. Drink now though 2029. 91 points.
Melanie Aubert rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a fairly big wine that boasts lots of dried fruit, spice and smoke, as well as some earthiness and eucalyptus to balance it out. It is smooth on the palate with a slight drying sensation from the tannins, and finishes with medium-long, smokey dried cherry notes. It is lovely to drink on its own but also has good acidity for food, and tannins that would be tamed by moderately fatty foods. Serve with grilled, smokey meats like brisket, or pulled pork.
From Portugal's Alentejano wine region, Album Reserva (2013) is a wine blend of 40% Petit Verdot, 30% Alicante Bouschet, 20% Syrah and 10% Tempranillo, and matured 10 months in new French oak barrels. - Community Wine Reviews

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
