Reviews and Ratings

Cherie Cole rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

Stunning, elegant and refined, this Gaja Barbaresco is described by the winemaker as unique to any other Nebbiolo that ever came out of their vineyard. This particular vintage displayed more fruit and juiciness than any other. The complex layer of aromas consist of cherry, cranberry, violet and caramel. Sour cherry is immediate on the palate, followed by delicate floral notes and a hint of caramel. Medium-bodied with a great balance between crisp acidity and velvety tannins. The finish is long with a lingering of sour cherry on the palate. Wait two more years to get the best expression of this fantastic wine.
Simon Chen rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

LCBO Grandi Marchi Italian Tasting @ Toronto - elegant red cherries, earthy aromas on the nose. Firm firm tannin but with a good balance with the acid and fruit. It's Gaja, age for 10+ years
