Firm grip. Decant 2 hours and pair with a rare steak. OTHER: This is one of Barone Ricasoli's two Grand Selezione wines. The 2013 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Colledilà is a delicious wine that excels in terms of its generosity and pureness. The 2013 is an excellent one for the 7.5 hectare Colledilà vineyard that dates all the way back to 1832 (it is older than Italy) ... soils consist of marl limestone and alberese stones, and the wine does indeed present evident mineral tones that add balance and elegance. It feels etched and shapely in the mouth. I loved the muscle and sheer power of this beautiful wine. It requires ample decanting time, but it should age gracefully. Mastroberardino Radici Fiano Di Avellino Fiano 2014, Campania D.O.C.G., Italy: A pretty white floral Italian white wine that's medium-bodied and has a viscous texture with good weight. Perfect for meaty fish dishes. OTHER: One of Campania's classic whites, the 2014 Fiano di Avellino Radici does a great job in a difficult vintage. Fiano grapes grow in volcanic soils with layers of thick gravel and ash. Peach, pear, citrus and Golden Delicious apple are major components of the bouquet. The mouthfeel in this cooler vintage is not as thick or creamy as past editions, but the acidity and the flavour persistency are well presented. Score - 90 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, March 22, 2015). Fiano food pairings: grilled calamari, grilled shrimp, pan-fried whitefish. Drink: 2016 - 2019 323998 13% XD 750 mL $19.95 Score: 88/100. August 2017. Best Value White Wine Full Review Add to Shopping Cart
