I'm always on the lookout for this wine when it gets released in Vintages. For the price it's a great "everyday" wine to have in your cellar.

60% Monastrell and 40% Syrah from the Alicante region of Spain, it's a great "go to" wine when you are looking for something for supper or to take as a hostess gift.

At 15% alcohol you would expect it to be a lot heavier in the mouth than it is. Definitely full bodied but there is a great balance of acidity and fruit to counter balance.

Aromas of dark fruit, cassis and oak. Flavours of blackberry and a peppery bite from the Syrah. Now 8 years old the tannins have smoothed out and all elements are in harmony. I think it's quite drinkable now but would still cellar for another few years.

Pair with bbq'd hamburgers, steak or any roasted meats. It's a hearty wine to pair with hearty fare!
