Casa Silva Gran Terroir De Los Andes Los Lingues Carmenère from Colchagua Valley offers ripe cassis, blackberry, dried oregano and a touch of bittersweet cocoa. It's dry and medium to full-bodied with velvety tannins and vibrant acidity that gives the wine excellent freshness and structure. Serve it at room temperature alongside grilled chorizo sausages where the wine's herbal notes and bold fruit complement the spicy, smoky meat, or pair it with spaghetti puttanesca where the wine's acidity cuts through the briny olives and capers while echoing the tomato sauce's savory depth. Chief winemaker Juan Francisco Calderón crafts this 100% Carmenère from sustainably-farmed grapes grown on the colluvial soils of Los Lingues near the Andean foothills at 350 meters elevation, where dramatic diurnal temperature swings preserve natural acidity while concentrating flavors, then ages it in French oak barrels. Founded in 1997 when fifth-generation family member Mario Pablo Silva convinced his father Mario to bottle wine under their own label after over a century of selling grapes, Casa Silva traces its roots to 1892 when Frenchman Emilio Bouchon arrived from Saint-Émilion and planted Colchagua Valley's first vineyards, and the winery was named Best Winery of Chile at the prestigious Catad'Or Wine Awards in 2020 while earning recognition as the most awarded Chilean winery of the 21st century. Enjoy this expressive Carmenère through 2030.

Carmenère food pairings: pork long ribs from the BBQ, grilled chorizo sausage, spaghetti putanesca.
