What a fantastic rosé – the type that I like – an explosion of fruits on the palate. Interesting blend of four local grape varieties: 30% Castelão, 30% Touriga Nacional, 20% Touriga Franca and 20 % Trincadeira. This rosé wine pays homage to the Portuguese producer’s art to take the best out of each grape in order to create the perfect blend. Smooth and elegant with aromas and flavours of red berries. A nice cotton candy pink colour in the glass. Paired well with sushi. Beautiful creative and colourful label. 12.5% alcohol. 7,4 g/L sugar. This is a new wine available at the SAQ this year (SAQ code: 14676095) at $12.35.

This was my weekend wine pick: a fantastic white blend of 36% Viosinho, 33% Alvarinho, 19% Arinto and 12% Viognier from Adegamãe Winery in Lisbon, Portugal. Light yellow colour in the glass. Aromas and flavours of pears and green apples. Paired well with vegetable egg rolls and general tao chicken. 13 % alcohol. Fun intriguing label. Available at the SAQ (Code SAQ: 13626344) at $14.95.

This was my weekend wine pick: an amazing white from the Dão wine region in Portugal. An interesting blend of 40% Encruzado, 30% Cercial and 30% Malvasia fina with lovely fresh flavours of green apple. Beautiful golden colour in the glass. Paired well with a lobster salad.
