What a wonderful Niagara Pinot from 2009. It's colour was a lovely meadium ruby. It had a complex nose of strawberry, cranberry, cedar box, and minerality. The red fruit continued in the mouth. This Pinot had great mouth feel and was long lasting. A wine that you would want to savour slowly to take in it's beauty.

Chapoutier takes his skills in the Rhone Valley and puts them to good use in the land down under, as this is not your typical jammy Aussie Shiraz. I decanted this wine for an hour and drank it over three hours. Dark ruby in colour. Black fruit on the nose, mostly blueberries. Also cinnamon spice and gamey notes. A complex wine that evolved throughout the night. Great structure and balanced. Long finish of dark fruit! Drink 2013-2017. http://foureyedwineguy.blogspot.ca/

Decanted 1hr: aromas of dark fruit, cinnamon spice, and bit of leather. Very well balanced, outstanding tannins & acidity. Went back to the wine after 3hr in decanter. What a change! A big burly red that is still very young. Aromas of dark fruit, cigar box, and cedar. Powerful tannin's are balanced with acidity. Great dark fruit in the mouth with great length. Golden straw in colour. Aromas of citrus fruit, apple, and minerality. Citrus fruit on the palate with great mouth feel. I really enjoy this form of chardonnay, not too much oak. It ended with great acidity and a touch of apple spice. Great length. http://foureyedwineguy.blogspot.ca/
