Arlùs

Treré Arlùs Albana Secca 2020

Romagna D.O.C.G., Italy

BJ scored this wine: 93/100

Produced from the indigenous Albana grapes grown in Romagna, Italy, this unique white wine has a luscious mouthfeel and persistent finish due to a portion of the grapes affected by botrytis. It has a slight floral aroma, but surprisingly rich with stone fruit and slight nuttiness on tasting. A white wine made for conversation and debate, it is a wine that requires a second taste. Perfect with rich shellfish dishes and citrus risotto.

19 Crimes Hard Chardonnay 2017

Australia, Australia

BJ scored this wine: 85/100

Lovers of big bold Chardonnay can count on this Hard Chard to deliver. Pouring a deep golden colour in the glass, the aroma of oak on the nose is followed by an intense attack of butterscotch on the palate. It does not hide its 16% alcohol, making this lush, full bodied Chardonnay enjoyable as a sipper all on its own, best accompanied by reading the story behind the 19 Crimes label.

Bramare Marchiori

Viña Cobos Bramare Marchiori Malbec 2015

Mendoza, Argentina
1854 days ago

BJ scored this wine: 92/100

Just one of their vineyard designate Malbecs, this offering from Luján de Cuyo holds pedigree from the vineyard of Viña Cobos inaugural release back in 1999, the Marchiori estate. A dark violet core is the hiding place for intense ripe berries, garrigue and exotic spice. A fine example of integrated finesse and structure. Best enjoyed with leaner cuts of beef but suitable for Mediterranean influenced vegetarian dishes.

Bramare

Viña Cobos Bramare Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Luján De Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina
1854 days ago

BJ scored this wine: 90/100

A balanced expression with a great QPR for Cabernet fans. The grapes are sourced from Luján de Cuyo, producing a ripe and tannic workhorse. Deep, dark fruit dances with earthy spice all the while being balanced by a subtle oak influence. Think grilled ribeye steak.

Bramare Luján de Cuyo

Viña Cobos Bramare Luján de Cuyo Malbec 2015

Luján De Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina
1855 days ago

BJ scored this wine: 91/100

With grapes sourced exclusively from the almost desert like Luján de Cuyo appellation, expect rounder and riper fruit than from the cooler Uco Valley appellation. More typical expression of Argentinian malbec with a dark, savoury and full body. Upfront dark fruit, subtle spice and chocolate with a persistent finish. Perfect choice for any leaner cut of grilled meat.
