Beverly scored this wine: 94/100

On colour, the Rolly Gassmann Riesling 2009 holds a crisp, yet light, golden wheat hue. On the nose, scents of green apple, pear and definite melon are noted, with a light floral essence. On the palate, this wine sits perfectly in the desired state of being well tempered with acidity, finely managing the wine’s sweetness. You’ll also note tastes of that persistent melon, apricot, and pear. Lastly, this wine produces an enjoyable medium length finish. This is a formidable white!!

On colour, this Sangiovese holds a deep ruby red. On the nose, scents of green pepper, and plum. On the palate, minerality, tobacco, red berries and vanilla are present. This is a complex wine that really falls into its own after 45 to 50 minutes of breathing.

On colour, the Miguel Torres Cordillera Carmenère Blend 2007 holds a garnet red hue. On the nose, scents of plum, spice, and eucalyptus are present. One the palate, you’ll find that this red blend is extremely smooth, with refined tannins and sumptuous fruit structures holding tastes of plum and dark berries, along with dark chocolate. This is a fantastic sipping wine that works well on its own, or paired with your lamb and pork dishes.

Beverly scored this wine: 88/100

On colour, the Santa Rita 120 Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 holds a ruby red hue. On the nose, scents of vanilla, plum and red berries are present while on the palate, the expected fruit forwardness with well tempered tannins rings through. While drinking this wine, I couldn’t help but think it is the kind of red that is certainly affordable, but also palate neutral. You’ll undoubtedly be able to serve this wine to the white wine die hard fans, and even those who do not normally look to wine as a libation choice. It’s a fantastic everyday drinking wine.
