Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Smoky, with rich baked apples, yellow apple, and toasty oak on the nose. Full bodied, with a chewy texture, making this Fumé Blanc from the Beansville Bench a great choice for smoked poultry, Thanksgiving dinners, or grilled chicken and roasted garlic Caesar salads. Barrel fermented and aged for 9 months in French oak helps give this wine a great texture. Tasted July 2016. 89 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Fume Blanc from Niagara Escarpment, Ont. Aged 9 mos in Fr oak. Shows mineral and slivered almonds on the nose. The palate gives subtle white tree fruit, apricot, mineral and almonds, with good acidity.
Tasted July 2016
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Oaky toasty Fume Blanc from The Organized Crime. A medium yellow colour reflecting the time it spent in barrel. Pear, citrus, chive, yellow flowers and smoked cheese aromas that dance in the glass. Flavours reveal underripe green apples, green tomatoes and grapefruit. High acidity, medium body and finish. Zesty with lingering kiwi juice at the end. This was quite different, worth trying for the adventurous. Pair with smoked Gouda cheeses or herbed barbecued chicken. 88 points
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Totally not what I expected! I find this vintage inconsistent with others crafted by Organized Crime. The dominant notes show bruised apple, peach, orange peel and floral notes. The palate is off-dry, acidity is lacking for my taste and, overall, I find this wine lacking in complexity, out of place and out of balance. Tasted July 2016. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
The 2012 vintage of this Niagara Sauvignon Blanc was barrel-fermented and aged 9 months in French oak barrels. It was also barrel fermented. This is a light-bodied fume blanc with some tropical notes, some flint and minerality. A great food wine to pair with butter-seared scallops. - Community Wine Reviews
