Italy's take on France's Beaujolais Nouveau style, bottled just weeks after the grapes are harvested and meant to be consumed young. Made from Teroldego grapes rather than Gamay in France. Vines grow in the foothills of the Dolomite mountains. Bright ruby hue with berry flavours. Pair with smoked meats and hard cheeses.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A Beaujolais-style from Trentino, Italy located at the foothills of the Dolomites. Made from the Teroldego varietal, this shows a deep purple colour and aromas of ripe dark berries, Welch's grape juice, spice and cocoa. A dry, very fruity palate gives dark cherries, crushed grapes, cocoa, slight spice and sandalwood, through to the finish. Great with braised meats or charcuterie.

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

An interesting take on the Beaujolais Nouveau style, from a prominent quality producer of Italian Pinot Grigio, Mezzacorona - Northern Italy. My friend, chief Winemaker Lucio Matricardi has created an approachable value-priced option to Beaujolais Nouveau. I appreciated the differentiation, a unique approach to Nouveau style, carbonic maceration and the plum, cherry aromatics with blueberry jam on the palate. Offering incredible value, this wine is ready to enjoy. Pairs well with blueberry infused goats cheese, baked chicken with balsamic glaze, or equally well on its own. Tasted Nov 2016 - rated 86/100
