The Rutherford Ranch Winery is on the site of the original Round Hill Winery started in the 1970’s by Ernie and Virginia Van Asperen. When the Van Asperen’s retired in 2000, Marko and Theo Zaninovich, long-time share holders with the Van Asperen family, acquired the winery. The estate vineyards were replanted with superior vines and the winery and Tasting Room have undergone significant renovations. Yet, the estate’s 100 year-old olive grove and unpretentious charm remain essentially unchanged.

Today, Rutherford Wine Company includes Rutherford Ranch Winery (Napa Valley), Round Hill, Scott Family Estate (Arroyo Seco) and Lander-Jenkins Vineyards
The winery and estate vineyards are certified 100% Organic and meet the strictest State and Federal guidelines for environmentally progressive winegrowing.
Visitors are welcomed 7 days a week at the newly renovated tasting room and can relax and stroll in the estates 100-year old olive grove.

The wines: Estate and Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Rhiannon (the estate’s signature red wine blend), Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

The winery is located on Napa Valley’s scenic Silverado Trail within the Rutherford District. Of Napa’s 14 designated AVA’s (American Viticultural Area), the district is renowned for producing unsurpassed Cabernet Sauvignon along with other premium varietal grapes. Robert Parker, noted wine writer and critic, described Rutherford Ranch wines as “best value in Napa Valley.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Eric Asimov, The New York Times

Unquenchable: A Tipsy Search

  Best Books of the Year

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.

Gary Vaynerchuck, Wine Library TV
