Mark and Patty Anderson
Mark was home grown in Walla Walla and graduated with a Studio Art Degree from Whitman College. He and Patty have been married for 33 years and have raised two children at the property which is home to Stonemarker - their estate vineyard. Mark's background is in art and entrepreneurial business, which explains his continued desire to explore the potential in new projects. Patty's knowledge of accounting and business structure is the perfect complement to that creative side.

Their first love is the arts, which is a large part of their lives as founders of the Walla Walla Foundry in 1980.

Squire and Amber Broel
Squire and Amber bring their passion for life and adventure to Foundry Vineyards. They settled in Walla Walla in 1993, and have enjoyed the vibrancy and richness that comes with living in this valley.

They are both involved in the visual arts: Squire is a full-time artist and Amber is the Administrative Assistant at Fouts Center for Visual Arts at Whitman College. As Partners in Foundry Vineyards they can continue to share their passion for good food, memorable wines, and robust friendships.

The inaugural vintage, a blend of Cabernet and Merlot grapes from their Stonemarker Vineyard, featured label artwork by renowned artist Jim Dine. The relationship between Dine and Anderson has been forged over twenty years, and it only seemed fitting that the first vintage celebrated their friendship.

In the years that have followed, Mark and Patty have increased the number of bottles they produce, but intend to keep their focus on small lot production. Mark, who holds a degree in studio art from Whitman College, found the winemaking process similar to the process of making art. FV is strengthening the relationship between art and wine by combining inspired winemaking with a complimentary visual aesthetic.

In early 2009 Mark and Patty Anderson brought Squire Broel on as a winery partner. Squire, a visual artist and life-long wine lover, will add his aesthetic vision to this exciting wine project. Foundry Vineyards is committed to the creative production of high quality wine that reflects the richness of the Walla Walla Valley. It's our intention to continue exploring the inspired similarities presented in both wine and art making.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
