Vintages Wine Picks January 21, 2012

White Wine

Henry of Pelham Estate Winery Reserve Off-Dry Riesling 2009, V.Q.A., Short Hills Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, Canada: The grapes for this wine are left on the vine well into October, allowing them to reach the desired ripeness for this rich and vibrant Riesling. Resulting is an interplay of lush citrus and floral accents with a hint of sweetness, balanced by a brilliant seam of acidity. Amazing value that will age well for 5-7 years. Divine wine that will go do notes. This will go down a storm with Asian and spices. Balanced with fresh peach and pear notes. Lovely! Pair with: lemongrass chicken with green-chilli sauce, cham-pong (spicy noodles with seafood) featuring red chillies and lime, pork chops with caramelized apples, spicy Thai dishes. 557165 11.50% MD 750 mL  $15.95 Score: 89/100.
