This is a very good example of Penfold's capabilities. 52% Cab Sauv, 48% Shiraz.
First thing that comes to mind is 'integration' - the flavors are together here. From plums to ripe figs and through dark chocolate flavors. Hints of black olives, cloves and violets. Smooth silky tannins. Can probably have 2-5 years more in the cellar, but why wait. This bottle is better than other I had before. Have it with juicy steak or by itself. Very rewarding.
