Treana Red 2008, Paso Robles, California, United States: This flagship wine of Treana Winery is a blend of 70% cabernet sauvignon and 30% syrah grapes. There are black cherries, figs, spices and dried herbs on the nose. There’s also a terrific structure and a smooth mouth-feel to this plush, full-bodied red. This wine has at least a decade of life ahead of it—if you can wait that long. Pair with pepper steak or grilled pork shops. Drink: 2011-2020. 11221 15.50% D 750 mL  $39.95 Score: 92/100.
