Corinna Horton rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

"Chewy" is perhaps the best adjective for the Benmarco, with all that dark fruit flavour just jammed into the bottle it's mouthful for under $20. No wonder it's so popular.

I like it with Italian sausage, a meat lovers pizza or BBQed ribs. I've even paired it (somewhat successfully) with Szechuan. Mostly, I just drink it.
Peter rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

Of all the many great Malbecs on the market today, the Ben Marco is a favorite. It is no wonder given the passion that vineyard owner Pedro Marchevsky has for his wines. He got the help of the famous Argentinean wine maker Susana Balbo.

I enjoyed the deep purple color and powerful aromas of ripe red fruits and roasted coffee beans, toasted woods. I found it very lush and full- bodied. It was very present on the palate. Chewy, currant jam flavors, clear crisp acidity, and savory finish. Images of outdoor Argentinean grilling drifted through my mind.

In fact I am leaving for Buenos Aries in just a few days.

Benmarco Malbec 2006, Mendoza, Argentina: A tasty Malbec with 10% Bonarda that was matured for 11 months in 50% new French oak and 50% one year in American oak. Blackberries, purple plums, cassis, anise and tobacco leaves. Medium- to full-bodied with a smooth texture.  657601  14%  XD  750 mL  $19.95  Score: 90/100. September 12, 2009  Full Review
