Natalie's Review

Port 2001, Portugal: Vintages Wine Panel: A blend of excellent young Ports from two or three harvests and bottled without any fining or filtration, it features complex aromas of sweet black fruit, raisin, dark chocolate and a hint of sweet tobacco. This rare style of Port, a great value alternative to Vintage Port, is worth the adventure. Stand bottle upright to allow its signature ‘crust’ (sediment) to settle and then decant. My note: I love crusted ports and find that they bridge the gap between vintage and tawny ports in their flavor profile. Lovely notes of blackcurrant, plums, cigar box, vanilla and dried herbs. Full-bodied with a long finish for after dinner. Drink: 2008-2020. 726828 40% S 750 mL  $32.95 Score: 91/100. December 6, 2008  Full Review
