Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Dense and delectable, the Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 from Wente Vineyards, located Livemore Valley, California, offers aromas of black berry, black plum, black pepper, leather, spice and oak. The wine shows a lovely medium body, polished tannins and succulent acidity. The finish is long and delivers flavors of black cherry, plum, dried herbs, spice, leather and oak. Great with steak. Enjoy!
Craig Haynes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This 2019 vintage from Wente Vineyards stars lush aromas reminiscent of dark berries and plums, sweet spices and elegant eucalyptus and showcases tasty, extroverted, ripe dark fruit flavours.

Hailing from a family-owned vineyard in the Livermore Valley viticulture area – its near San Francisco - this Cabernet Sauvignon feels full bodied, warm, grippy, velvety and super dry.

After sipping this, I placed an order with my neighbourhood butcher shop so that I could serve BBQ with this red. I’d serve up some grilled veggies with it, too.

Natalie's Review

Wente Vineyards Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Livermore Valley, California, United States: This well-made Californian red wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Petit Sirah, Malbec and Cabernet Franc grapes. Elegant, balanced and complex. Great price for classic Californian Cabernet. Cool-climate influences at play here. Pair with a rare steak. There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
