Natalie's Review

Org de Rac Die Waghuis Swartland Red Blend 2017, Swartland W.O., South Africa: Org de Rac Die Waghuis 2017 is a full-bodied red wine blend of Shiraz, Mourvèdre, Grenache with a splash of Verdelho, a vibrant white wine grape. Fragrant on the nose with ripe and fresh red berry, cherry, plum and spicy aromas, vibrant and fresh on the palate. Soils are mainly terra-rossa formation with a high percentage of shale, providing a well-drained and cool site for the vines. The final blend was aged in second-fill French oak barriques for 14 months. Pour with grilled meats. The historic Die Waghuis - or Guard house - at the foothills of the scenic Piketberg Mountain served as a lookout post in the 18th Century. Drink: 2021-2024. 18695 14.50% D 750 mL  $24.95 Score: 89/100. May 11, 2021 Plush Pork Wine  Full Review

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
