From Nk'mip (Inkameep) Cellars, the 2016 Qwam Qwmt Merlot is such a joy to enjoy with full-on ripe blackberry, spiced plum and dark cherry aromas on the nose. Deepest, dark ruby in the glass, dry, full-bodied, concentrated and generous with blackberry, black currant, dark cherry, plum cake, meaty and spiced vanilla flavours plushy on the palate with a medium-plus stony mineral finish. Tannins are still grippy (decant for one hour prior to pouring). Aged 18 months in French oak barrels.

A comforting Merlot, easy to sip on its own, but excellent with braised short-rib and sautéed Porcini mushroom ravioli. Tasted April 2020.
