Big juicy aromatics on the nose. On the palate, showing slightly stemmy bitterness, with notes of pomegranate pith over a blackberry core. Full bodied, medium acidity. Declared an “exceptional reserve” on the bottle. I’d recommend tasting next year’s vintage. Tasted 2014 vintage decanted 2h in March 2018. 85 points

Barkan Wine Cellars Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Upper Galilee, Israel: A superbly balanced, robust Cabernet from Israel. Firm tannins, so age in the cellar a few more years then decant 1-2 hours and pair with rare steak. Aromas of fleshy black fruit and toasty oak. This wine was aged in French oak barrels for 20 months. This wine is kosher for Passover. Drink: 2019-2023. 698902 13.50% XD 750 mL $29.95 Score: 91/100. March 17, 2018 Top Rated Red Wine.
