A big bold spicy Amarone upfront with sweet, ripe, concentrated flavours backing up the palate. This divine marone showcases a bouquet of intensely concentrated stewed plum, jammy cassis, cigar box, cedar, mocha, and spice with layers of nuanced flavours that go on forever. Tannins are silky smooth on the palate with a balanced acidity and an opulent mouthfeel. Enjoy with prime rib roasts. Tasted May 2017 by @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Jane Staples rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A beautiful Amarone Della Valpolicella from Veneto D.O.C., Italy. Very deep garnet with rich aromas of dark berries, sweet spice, herbs, leather and violets echoed beautifully on the voluptuous palate. Mouth-watering acidity and satiny texture with luxuriously long finish. Savour this one slowly or enjoy with venison and game. Great gift wine for Fathers Day.

Natalie's Review

Latium Morini Campo Leòn Amarone Della Valpolicella 2011, Veneto D.O.C., Italy: Holy smokes! I can smell the alcohol on this wine -- at 16.5% that's no surprise. Port, the fortified wine, clocks in at 19%. Nevertheless this is delicious with sweet black cherry flavours and a smooth texture. Perfect for roast beef. Black cherry liqueur and mocha coffee aromas on the nose. Robust with a deepest, darkest concentration of black fruit. Drink: 2017-2024. 334300 16.50% D 750 mL  $46.95 Score: 90/100. There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
