Bright ruby colour. A nose of cassis fruit, with a hint of mushroom soil, and oak wood. The palate repeats the aromas and adds plum flavours, cacao, and sharp tannins,
Score 87. (S.Segard, reviewed Sept 15, 2017)
Jane Staples rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A 100% Merlot with a yummy nose giving blackberries, cassis and dark chocolate. Concentrated dark berry and plum flavours on the palate, along with mocha and mellow oak notes. A great pork chop wine. Available soon in 1.5 L format.
Tasted September 2017
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby colour with a garnet hue. Lots of blackberry, light plum and stemmy wood notes. Young tree sapling aromas with a little bit of forest. Lots of chocolate, leather and smoke characters. On the palate there is notes of light skinned plum, cherry and cassis. Medium tannin, acidity, body and finish with vibrant fruit notes. Incredibly well balanced. A great pairing for lamb and rosemary dishes and smoked hard cheeses.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Merlot is not a wine I would instinctively associate with Argentina so I was pleasantly surprised at this bottle from Trapiche. I detected intense aromas of sweet cherry before my nose was even close to the glass. Medium body with some residual sugar (5 g/l) gives it a touch of sweetness. While a fairly basic Merlot that is not too complex it hits the mark for a good value wine to serve your gang with juicy hamburgers from the bbq. Tasted April 25, 2017.
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lots of black cherry, plum and mocha on the nose. Medium-full body with black cherry and dark chocolate on the palate. Pair with braised beef or game. Tasted April 25, 2017.
Lynn van der Linde rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Black cherry and vanilla aromas, with mouth watering acidity and lingering peppery finish. Perfect with red meat dishes or barbecued burgers.
Tasted April 2017.

Trapiche Reserve Merlot 2015, Mendoza, Argentina: A plush, full-bodied supple Argentine Merlot with aromas of fleshy black plums and dark spice. The fruit comes from Mendoza's Uco Valley. Great price for this quality. Pair with grilled pork chops or fall root vegetables. Drink: 2015-2018. 454843 14% D 750 mL  $11.95 Score: 89/100. September 5, 2017 Best Value Red Wine.  Full Review
