1st bottle with lasagna and bread at my parents. ET and I finished the bottle...very nice.

2nd bottle with lasagna and bread for Maureen's birthday (2019). Parents were at dinner as well. Shared by Maureen, ET and I. Really enjoyed this bottle and wished we had more!
Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A lovely wine and a great value for the price! Earthy, aromas of tart cherry, cranberry, leather and spice. Bright acid on the palate really brings the fruit forward, and extends the finish. Try this with pasta and tomato sauce.
Jon Steeves rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Great value wine. Aromatic signature resembles that of the Sartori Amarone. Loved the dried fig and cranberry aromatics and the long finish with persistence of ripe cherry and leather. Tasted Nov 2016 - rated 91/100
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Ripe cherries and plums aroma, spiced with some smoke and cedar wood. This wine greets you with intense acidity in the mouth and reveals pleasant earthy flavours, with firm but round and balanced tannins. A classic pairing for tomato sauce based dishes. Score 89. (Reviewed on Nov. 27, 2016).
Luc Delorme rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of ripe berries and a hint of white pepper welcome the drinker, while the palate detects much riper fruit than the nose detected, with a sweet jammyness that is characteristic of a hot climate wine. With its very approachable acidity and tannin levels, this is a very nice, easy-drinking wine that can be enjoyed in many situations. This would pair well with chicken cacciatore, or a vegetarian lasagna.
Colin McKone rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Wow, this Valpolicella is teaming with aromas of tobacco smoke, black cherry, plum, cassis, cedar, baking spices and leather. The flavours of the wine stand up to the anticipation that the aromas create with the with dried berries and balking spice following through on the finish. This is medium bodied with balanced tannin and acidity. This wine is great on it own and will pair well with tomotao based Italian dishes and firm cheeses. If you like Italians reds this wine is a steal for the price.
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 80/100 with the following review:

Presentation: Clean, simple, monochromatic, classic for the region
Appearance: Pale garnet colour
Nose: Medium intensity aromas of perfume, spice (cloves, nutmeg), cedar, garrigue (green smell)
Taste: Dry, medium, slightly biting tannins, medium acidity, wet earth, leather, green, raspberries, red currant
Finish: Medium, wet earth and leather
Overall impression: An acceptable Valpolicella Classico. If you like earthy/dirty wines, you should like this one.
Value: 3.5/5
Matt Steeves rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Sartori's Montegradella Valpolicella Classico Superiore is a fantastic value priced wine that shows the greatness this storied Valpolicella winery can achieve at such a bargain price! Ruby red, the sweet baking spices, in particular clove, jump from the glass while the dried fruits, leather and cedar complete the complex aromatic profile. Sweet and tangy dried fruit, plum, and spice on the refreshing and mildly textured palate. A lovely wine that would be ideal for entertaining and enjoying with a wide array of hearty dishes and throughout the year. Incredibly quality price ratio! Tasted November 2016. 91+ points.
